Library and Reading Enrichment

A Lifelong Love of Reading Starts Young
In the 2015 school year, we opened our own preschool library. With over 3,600 books and growing, it has been a huge hit with our kids. In Library class, our students get the opportunity to hear a story and to pre-read books of their own. The students work on storytelling and in-depth discussions of the book of the week. This deepens their understanding of the books that they read and helps them to think critically about books.
Our Pre-K classes have daily library/reading enrichment classes. In reading enrichment, our Pre-K students are introduced to longer chapter books and work through entire units based on non-picture books. They have the opportunity to spend time really delving into each story and practicing their writing about each story.
